Spring is well underway here on the farm. Warmer longer days burst forth with new life, and signs of new beginnings on display everywhere. The same is true for Loren and me as we embark on a new adventure for the farm. We look forward to welcoming our customers back for our fourth growing season, and are thrilled to announce the opening of our Certified Organic Nursery.

To kick-off the season we have seven varieties of tomatoes and several types of pepper plants, with many in bloom, and some already hanging with fruit. Jump start your own garden with our veggie 6-packs and 4” potted veggie starts, including lemon cucumbers, summer squash, lettuces, and kale. We have a variety of herbs in both 4” and 1-gallon pots. And while our focus remains on Certified Organic edibles, you will find a selection of flowering annuals, perennials, and shrubs to choose from. In the words of American horticulturist and botanist, Luther Burbank, “Don’t wait for someone to bring you flowers. Plant your own garden and decorate your own soul.”

Inside our new farm store, you can purchase the same freshly harvested fruits, veggies, fresh-cut herbs, & flower bouquets to brighten your home. Along with familiar favorites we’ve added new items this year, such as Minnesota Midget melons, Ring-o-Fire cayenne peppers, Shishito peppers, and more.

For our gardening customers we carry a line of quality garden tools from Terrebonne, located just north of us in Lynden. We also offer a selection of well-crafted Japanese tools. Checkout the cuttlefish hoe, made of heavy-duty forged steel, created for dual purpose as a hoe and a rake.

We’re thrilled to carry Garden & Bloom Tomato, Vegetable, Herb Fertilizer. The same fertilizer that goes into every one of our hanging baskets, herb bowls, and nursery pots. And no gardening project is complete without some bagged G&B Harvest Supreme or Kellogg Garden Organics Raised Bed & Potting Mix, the same products we use.

We’ve also added some gift items, including True Grit soap from Molly’s Soap Company in Winthrop, Washington. And as some of you know, Kathy has written for numerous magazines and books over the years. Brand new releases from Chicken Soup for the Soul featuring her stories will be available for purchase in our farm store. If you could use a few laughs, pick up a copy of Chicken Soup for the Soul Well that Was Funny. Among our gift items we also offer 5×7” blank cards featuring Kathy’s photography, perfect for writing a note to your favorite aunt or friend.

While some of the items and produce quantities available are not posted on our website at this time, you may still place an order online. However, to purchase the widest variety available simply drop by our farm store at 32801 120th Street SE, Sultan, on Thursday-Fridays from 10-6:00. You can also find us at the Sultan Farmer’s Market Saturdays from 10-2:00. Although, time and space don’t allow us to pack everything we offer to the market, the best selection is found in our  nursery and farm store.

See you at the Farm ~ Loren & Kathy
